　　ファイバーは私たちの日常生活でよく使用されている身近なものです。 私はファイバーを素材とした作品制作にかかわっています。使用する素材は原毛から始まり、その後苧麻、サイザル麻、手漉きの紙(日本、韓国、台湾、中国)、シュレッダーにかけた紙などさまざまにわたってます。 私はそれらに手を加える前の、ファイバー自体が持つデリケートな美しさにこころひかれ、そのままの自然な状態にまず興味がありました。私は、ファイバーのもつ魅力の1つは、それらを再構築することにより新たな表情をみせることにあると思います。私の作品制作における基本姿勢は素材そのものにできるだけ作為的な痕跡を残さず、素材そのものの本質を顕在化したいということです。 私は作品を形成する要素である形、テクスチュア、および色彩などについては、その結果自然とあらわれるものと考え、その微妙なニュアンスを楽しみたいと思います。

The fibers I first met were well-used and familiar ones in our daily life. Since then I have been involved in fiber material work. At first I used raw wool and later moved through ramie, sisal hemp, hand made paper (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China) and so on. While I was fascinated by the delicate textures or transience of the fibers themselves before they were processed, and while I must admit that in the first place I was interested in the materials in their natural state, I think that one of the charms of those fibers is their ability to reveal different expressions through their reconstruction. Fundamentally, my basic stance on the production of my works is I want to actualize the unique qualities or the essence of the materials by means materials like fibers, while refraining from intentionally adding to the materials themselves as much as possible. I aim at suggesting their natural state with respect to the shape, texture, and coloration of the elements forming the work. And as a result, I have come to savor the subtle, visual nuances revealed, such as each material's physicality, tones, or shades of color.
